The central objective of a library is to identify, collect, organize and make accessible the information to the users. Earlier a library was measured according to its holdings but with the development of computing and telecommunication and their adoption in libraries, things have changed. Libraries and librarians are facing unprecedented challenges every day due to the proliferation of information technologies. Most of the present-day libraries are moving from print to digital collections or at least to a hybrid print and digital collections. This movement has a significant impact on information technology as the delivery and content of information are governed by it. User expectations have also grown as they do not just require the required information but it is to be delivered with quality, accuracy, and with immediate response to their needs. To achieve these libraries need to build their manpower with effective leadership. Manpower is the most valuable resource of any organization, and they work with a common goal or purpose. The organization provides facilities and technology which are tools used by the people to carry out the common purpose.

CENTRAL STATE LIBRARY

The Central State Public Library, Allahabad is under the administrative control of the secondary Education Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh. The library was founded in 1946 to serve financially weak and brilliant students for their education from time to time since then library expending continuously with new resources and books under the expansion phase Library get its new campus at Shaheed Roshan Singh Marg (Near S.R.N. Hospital), Allahabad.

About Library History

1946 – This exquisite library of the city was established under the copyright act.
1948 – The library was inaugurated by Education Minister Dr. ampersand ( Ex. Chief Minister)
1961 – The library was open for public use.
1962 – For the convenience of readers and to provide them more valuable services the library opens in two shifts.
1984 – The library shifted to the new present building, Shaheed Roshan Singh Marg (Near S.R.N. Hospital Allahabad)

The chief goal of the library is quality development in education and preservation of books. Members of any age group or community can avail the benefit of the library.
